Acoustic Infrastructures is a research, production, publication and exhibition project about how sound and public address function to make spaces public and private. The sound art exhibition examines the sound of the everyday, taking place outside of museums and gallery spaces, embedding itself into the semi-public spaces of the city, and into preinstalled public address systems. The project is a collaboration between Critical Media Lab Senior Researcher Jamie Allen, the continent. publishing collective, and the art and technology centre Eyebeam in NYC. The exhibitions are ongoing in public arena in NYC, including the Ace Hotel Lobby in NYC, and a public discussion event on September 24th at Eyebeam in Brooklyn.
