sonic formations — fourth note (a sketch)

In her curatorial practice, Kabelo Malatsie works with contemporary infrastructures in order to find models that enable critical practitioning and these include modes of collectivizing. The current exhibition at Kunsthalle Bern, “NTU, Nolan Oswald Dennis, Tabita Rezaire, Bogosi Sekhukhuni” (22 July – 1 October 2023), seeks to stretch our understanding of solo and collective practice and explore the zone of influence between the two. The exhibition brings together individual artworks by Nolan Oswald Dennis, Tabita Rezaire, and Bogosi Sekhukhuni, as well as the installation “Nervous Conditioner” by NTU, an agency founded by the artists concerned with the spiritual futures of technology. The installation creates a site for discussion, sharing, and organizing for people of color “free of the white-supremacist-patriarchalhetero-normative suppression.”
