We invite you to celebrate the publication of the book Screen Cultures 1970–1990 in Basel and Beyond – Video and Net Initiatives. In this anthology, the authors examine countercultural bottom-up initiatives since the 1970s and describe screen cultures as the intersection of video art, net art and -activism. At the book launch, the editors Stefanie Bräuer and Lucie Kolb will present the recent publication by incorporating video clips. The book launch is part of an event hosted by point de vue, an independent production company for films, media art, and applied projects that has been in existence since 1980, as part of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. Following the presentation, drinks will be offered.
