With a diverse background that bridges the worlds of sound design, arts and computer science, Cedric Spindler has established himself as a multidisciplinary expert. His career at the intersection of technology and creativity includes significant contributions to several research projects ranging from recording, conservation and analysis of audio and image data, to the development and study of interactive installations through to the application of artificial intelligence at the intersection of human and machine interaction. He has imparted knowledge through teaching assignments in programming languages, interactive sound, and electronic music at Hochschule für Musik Basel, ZHDK Zurich, and HKB Bern, covering subjects from applied audio programming to the aesthetics of electronic music and instrument design. As co-founder of Tactile Audio, he has also delved into the startup world, enhancing the development of electronic musical instruments. His extensive expertise is not limited to academia, with his roles in sound and video engineering at Theater Basel, freelance work in film scoring, programming, electroacoustic music, and sound installations, alongside technical positions in ICT and web development.
