Jonathan King’s work spans philosophy, political economy, technology, and art. His current research addresses advances in technology as they relate to the development of new ways of organizing production; the consequences of the concept of metacosmology for philosophy; and the contemporary theory and practice of dramaturgy.
He has taught philosophy, political studies, international relations, sociology, and business studies, and has worked in a variety of roles on artistic projects internationally.
For his PhD dissertation, The Common: A Critique of Political Philosophy, he proposed, in dialogue with Alain Badiou and Jean-Luc Nancy, a foundational rethinking of the political through the development of new concepts of parting, stating, and Being’s being common.
