Prof. Dr. Marta Vilela Malpartida (she/her) is a Peruvian Urban Architect. PhD in Urbanism from the University of Liège, Belgium (2009). Senior lecturer at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Academic Department of Architecture. Director of the Center for Research on Architecture and the City CIAC-PUCP. Member of the interdisciplinary research group Innovation and Participation in Urban Development -IPDESUR-. Director of the journal ENSAYO, Co-editor of the peer-reviewed journal Investiga Territorios. Researcher and consultant specialised in urban issues related to participation and planning in metropolitan scales, intermediate cities and smaller cities, on which she has several publications, including books and articles in specialised journals. For 5 years she co-coordinates the project Transversal integration actions of the Peruvian territory (2012–2017), financed by the Belgian development cooperation, responsible for the development of participatory methodologies in intermediate cities, within the framework of urban and territorial planning as a pedagogical experience.
