Joseph Popper is an artist and designer working across various media including film, installation and photography. He is currently a PhD candidate at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design. His research explores the imagining of outer space and the shaping of outer space imaginaries. The central concern is the reimagining of outer space, responding to the premise that predominant collective imaginations have become normalised by particular myths of progress. Joseph is particularly interested in the production and narration of outer space, space future visions, and the relations of outer space practices with Earthbound conditions.
