Queer AI, hosted by Ren Qingyi in collaboration with Johannes Bruder, brings together two influential voices in the field of tech research. Feminist technoscience researcher Thao Phan and queer computer scientist Vagrant Gautam will share their work in the study of gender in intelligent voice assistants and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Together we want to reflect on the construction of gender in artificial intelligence and speculate on the (im)possibilities of queering AI.
Update: Unfortunately, Thao Phan won’t be able to be there, but we’re happy to be joined by Mona Hedayati!
